Empty Bowls Project
Sunday, October 5th
11:30am – 2:00pm
Zachary-Tolbert House grounds in Cashiers, NC

Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger and was created by The Imagine Render Group. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.

You are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread in exchange for a $20.00 donation per bowl. Guest keep the beautifully crafted soup bowls as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to an organization working to end hunger and food insecurity.

The Bascom hosts potters throughout the year to throw hundreds of bowls for the event. Local restaurants donate the delicious soups to fill them.

The Cashiers Historical Society provides a beautiful venue on the grounds of the Zachary-Tolbert House. Extra bowls from this event and previous events are available for sale at the Cashiers Historical Society offices. Call 828-743-7710 for details.
