This year we are featuring three newly constructed “cottages” called Cottage Walk located on Burns Street in downtown Cashiers. The Showhouses will be within easy walking distance of Cashiers shops and restaurants. The three cottages combined give our designers 27 “blank canvases” on which to perform their magic.
Are the Houses available for sale?
Yes. Listing Agents are McKee Properties and Old Cashiers Realty.
Prices range between $698K and $850K. Contact Beth Townsend at Mckee Properties (828-421-6193) or Kati Miller at Old Cashiers Realty (828-743-9900) for additional information.
Ample parking will be available at the large lot on Frank Allen Road opposite the Cashiers/Glenville Fire Department headquarters and behind Wendy’s. If you are a Showhouse regular this is the same lot we used for many years prior to 2016. There will be a trolley running regular service from the parking lot to the Showhouse about every ten minutes. The Showhouse is only about a 12 minute walk from the parking lot to the Post Office and across the Village Green lawn. For those who wish to walk there will be signs marking the route. Parking is free every day except August 21, Eclipse Day, when there will be a $25 charge for parking. Purchase your permit here.
The Designers are selected from among the leading designers in Cashiers and the Southeast. We can’t list them all here but a full list will be available in the July edition of Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles.
Burns Street is a short L shaped street running between State Route 107 South and Frank Allen Road. These are directions to the parking lot on Frank Allen Road.
- From the west and Highlands, take U.S Highway 64 to Cashiers. Coming down the hill into Cashiers take a right just past the Fire Station on Frank Allen Road. Entrance to the parking lot is on the left.

August 11. Benefactors’ Soiree at Chattooga Club. By invitation only. If you are interested in becoming a member of Cashiers Historical Society at the Benefactor level contact email@example.com
August 12. Opening Night Cocktail Party. On the Showhouse Grounds at Cottage Walk from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. Admission $100.00 per person. Purchase here.
August 17. Celebrity Luncheon at Wade Hampton Golf Club. 11:30 AM. The after-lunch speaker will be nationally acclaimed architect Keith Summerour. $150.00 per person.
August 21. Solar eclipse. We cannot claim credit but it is big. The first total solar eclipse to be visible in Cashiers since the 1500s and there won’t be another until 2300. From beginning to end the eclipse will last over 2 hours. The period of totality will be 2 minutes 30 seconds depending upon your exact location. Authorities predict the town will be quite crowded on August 21 and the preceding weekend. Already rooms in and around Cashiers are heavily booked so make your plans early if you plan to stay overnight. If you are one of the many people expected in town this day visit the Showhouse early so you can be outside for the big event. Purchase a parking permit for the lot off Frank Allen Rd for $25 here.
August 12-27. Throughout the Showhouse there will be a Refreshments Tent on the Showhouse Grounds complete with tables and chairs. From 1:00 to 4:30 PM iced tea and cookies will be served. Champagne, wine, and beer will be available for purchase. On these afternoons there may be “pop up” speakers talking about the history of Cashiers.
There will be a tent located at the parking lot for merchants from out-of-town as well as the local community selling an outstanding array of gifts, clothing, and decorative accessories. Plan to drop in while waiting for the trolley or after visiting the Showhouse.
