Lynn Monday

Monday’s House of Design

Birch Cottage – Master Bedroom

Lynn Monday has been a designer for more than 30 years, with clientele that spans the Eastern seaboard from New York to Florida. Inspired by different culturs, Lynn’s distinctive style is evident in her work, from commercial to residential spaces and in her custom furniture line. Lynn is the author of several texts and publications, including Southern Mountain Living, a style manual for being comfortably and beautifully at home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. 2016 saw the opening of Lynn Monday Home, her new store location in Cashiers, NC.

Joan Anderson

Joan Anderson is a South Carolina native known for her range of design and her ability to respect the wishes of her client. For the past 30 years, Anderson has focused primarily on residential design, imbuing each project with her professional level of design, product and service. This summer, Anderson opens the door to Joan Anderson Interiors (formerly The Horned Puffin) in a new space in central Cashiers.

Maria McLaurin

Maria McLaurin is known for the calming, peaceful expression in her design. In every project, communication plays a vital role in reflecting the client’s own tastes and lifestyle in their home. Renewing interiors by considering and bringing focus to window views and natural landscapes is also a specialty of McLaurin Interiors. As a graduate of Brenau University, McLaurin earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.

The design team of Niki Papadopoulos and Mark Williams share 12 years of experience in the design industry, collaborating on projects where they focus on mixing scale, texture and contrast. Mark received his BS from the Georgia Tech College of Architecture before going on to study at the Ecole d’Architecture, Tolbiac in Paris. He opened Mark Williams Design Associates in 2007 with Niki Papadopoulos, who is the recipient of a BFA in Interior Design from American Intercontinental University in Atlanta. Their firm specializes in multi-family design and interiors and luxury single-family residential work.

Ann Huff & Meg Harrington

Huff Harrington

Hooper Cottage – Front and Back Porch

A love of original art and a passion for design brought self-proclaimed Francophiles Ann Huff and Meg Harrington together to co-found Huff Harrington Fine Art in 2006.  The gallery was soon followed by Huff Harrington Home, a French-inspired collection of carefully curated antiques, furniture, accessories, jewelry, gifts and clothing – all uniquely flavored with a little je ne sais quoi. Raised in Europe, but now happily based in Atlanta with their families, both Huff and Harrington frequently collaborate on design projects with Huff Harrington’s Sam Jones and Martha Douglas Peyton.  Ann and Meg also travel often to France for inspiration – and are always on the hunt for special, one-of-a-kind finds.

A full-service company specializing in residential interiors, DWH Interiors is the latest step in a career spanning almost 30 years in the Atlanta Design Community. Douglas Hilton’s career has exposed him to all aspects of the Design Industry – from wholesale showroom to white glove delivery to Interior Design for clientele. He has worked on projects in Atlanta, GA, Highlands, NC, Birmingham, AL and Miami, FL. His work has been published in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and The New York Times Magazine and other projects he has worked on have appeared in Veranda, Traditional Homes, and Milieu.

Melissa Knott

Missy Morrow Interior Design

Melissa better known as “Missy”, has been designing her whole life and is thrilled to be making her design debut with AH&L in this year’s 20th Anniversary Cashier’s Show House. After 35 years of  luxury sales and marketing experience serving the interior designer and architectural communities in addition to earning her degree in Interior Design years ago, Missy finally took the leap of faith to open her own boutique style design company in 2016.  Her love for creating beautiful and comfortable living spaces is a natural gift and her attention to detail is a passion she brings to every project. Living in Atlanta for the past 25 years she has been a credited contributor to many of the spaces designed in numerous ASO Designer Show Houses as well as D.I.F.F.A. “Dining By Design” tables, AH&L’s Holiday Homes and Serene Show House  well as The Cashiers Historical Society Show Houses.  For the past two holiday seasons’s Missy created a warm and welcoming environment for the Great Hall and common areas at The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center now enjoyed by visitors year round.  In addition to her Atlanta projects Missy still has beach sand between her toes and is currently working on projects in her native South Florida. Remember  the “best design is living with those you love”.


Tish Mills

Since forming Harmonious Living in 1999, Tish Mills has become known for creating peaceful spaces that are a reflection of the homeowner’s personality and lifestyle. She is a member of ASID and a founding member of the Design Leadership Network and Leaders of Design Council. She has received 23 design excellence awards from the Georgia Chapter of ASID and 3 national ASID awards. Her work has been featured in Elle Decor, Traditional Home, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and Atlanta Magazine Home as well as several books on interior design.


Jaime Elliott McPherson

Jamie Elliott McPherson has been involved in the interior design industry
in the Southeast for over 20 years. His love for creating classic, comfortable, and inspired living spaces lead him to also expand into the event planning industry. He and his husband, Tra Raines, own Vinewood Plantation, a historic wedding venue in Newnan, Georgia. McPherson believes that every project should be personalized for and represent his clients.

Jena Salmon is owner of Jena Salmon Designs, LLC, a full-service interior design firm specializing in transitional design that is fresh, clean and classic. Salmon’s penchant for creating stylish spaces has evolved into her own brand of decorating. Her work is characterized by its timelessness and her mantra to “keep it pretty.” She combines old-world elegance with a modern sensibility and her ability to combine bold patterns and classic influences has established her signature style.

For over 30 years, Skip Ryan has been in the antiques and interior design business, working in Cashiers, Palm Beach and Atlanta. His shops in Cashiers—The Catbird Seat and Rayn and Company Antiques— are well known for their beauty and delightful variety of merchandise. Skip has worked with clients throughout the Southeast, specializing in creating classic interiors that emphasize the careful choosing and placement of fine antiques and decorative accessories.

Anna-Louise Wolfe is owner and designer of her self-named full-service interior design firm. She uses the architecture of the home and the client’s personality as the inspiration for her designs, creat- ing a personally curated look suited just for them and their lifestyle. Shon Parker

Shon Parker, an award-winning designer who founded his eponymous Atlanta firm in 2000, has long stood apart for his ability to straddle design aesthetics and moods, while always imbuing rooms with a noticeable energy or vibration. Parker’s innate abilities let him craft spaces that embody the end user’s very essence. The Summer House

For 28 years, Paula Jones has specialized in elegant mountain decor. With the design team of Sam Neville, Mike Jennings and a talented staff, The Summer House is a major home furnishings center located on the Cashiers-Highlands Plateau. Their areas of focus run the gamut from rustic to contemporary design, including furnishings for both indoor and outdoor spaces. They also offer custom furniture designed to client specifications as well as home delivery with white glove service to 18 states.

Vivianne Metzger and Cherie Tibbetts

Madden Cottage – Front Porch

After cutting her teeth in the antique business in Charleston, South Carolina, Vivianne Metzger moved to Cashiers in 1996. Now, along with her daughter and son-in-law, Cherie and Bill Tibbetts, she scours the English countryside each spring looking for 18th and 19th century antiques and accessories to fill their shop and warehouse. They are celebrating 20 years in Cashiers and their shop and expansive warehouse are a treat to visit. They enjoy the hunt and helping clients personalize their home with interesting antique pieces.

June Chamberlain

June Chamberlain is a native of Valdosta, Georgia, and earned her BFA in interior design from the University of Georgia. She interned for the office of Frank McCall in Moultrie, and started Chamberlain Interiors in Atlanta in 1996. Her classic approach to design can be seen in commercial and residential projects all over the southeast, including Cashiers and Highlands. Chamberlain is a proud member of ASID and recently won two Design Excellence Awards.

Amanda Wyatt

The Willow James style is one of clean lines, native materials, natural light, and livable spaces. As the lead designer and builder for Willow James, Amanda Wyatt focuses on the intersection of design and construction for both new construction and remodels. Wyatt seeks to make the building process feel personalized and rewarding, guiding clients in a mountain aesthetic that feels both organic and modern. Willow James is a licensed construction company for the design-focused client, offering a range of complementary services.


Maxine Sikes

Maxine Sikes began her design career working with clients on restoration projects, many listed on the National Historic Register. She and her husband, Jeff, are the creators of Reclamations Highlands, Bumpkins and The Global Craftsman in Cashiers. In April 2017 they opened COLLABORATION, a 5-acre compound in the heart of Cashiers. Sikes’ design style offers high impact with reclaimed architecturals, antique timbers and industrial elements juxtaposed to a simple backdrop.

Francie Hargrove

A profound sense of style has always been innate in Interior Designer Francie Hargrove who, even as a young child, saw her love affair with interiors take root.  Upon graduating from Brenau Women’s College with a Fine Arts degree in Interior Design.  Francie began her design career in Atlanta apprenticing with Bettye Fincher Interiors of Atlanta, GA and Naples, FL.  Several years later she launched her own design firm, Francie Hargrove Interior Design in Perry, GA.  That same year, Francie was selected by Brunschwig & Fils as their Residential Designer of the Year for the Southeastern United States.  With a blossoming career underway, Francie joined forces with her husband, Shannon, and founded a design and build firm.  Their projects together can be found throughout the South including many in the Cashiers-Highlands area of Western NC, as well as the Georgia coast and Florida panhandle.

Their love for the mountains of Western, NC led Francie and Shannon to open a retail store in Cashiers specializing in home furnishings as well as ladies’ apparel and accessories.  Three years later, Hargrove Brothers, a collection for men, was established by her sons, Charles and Beau.  Together they have proudly grown their business to include their own line of Hargrove Brothers apparel and footwear.

For over twenty years Francie’s love for creating beautiful spaces has enabled her to expand her business and provide a true lifestyle experience for all her customers.

Pineapple House is one of the Southeast’s most respected and decorated residential interior design firms. Founded in 1981 and taking on projects ranging from decorating to new construction, the firm has won a record 43 ASID Design Excellence Awards. Kate Fleming joined the firm in 2011 and has earned her place completing complex new construction projects. Katie Moorhouse has been with Pineapple House since 2012 and very quickly proved herself with an award-winning terrace buildout.

Mary Palmer Dargan

Dargan Landscape Architects, Dovecote

Mary Palmer Dargan is an author, botanist and licensed landscape architect. Based in Cashiers, NC, Mary Palmer is well-known throughout the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau for her beautiful and transformative landscape design. Her charming cottage, Dovecote, received the 2015 Cashiers Village Heritage Award. The cottage is home to Dovecote Porch & Gardens, a seasonal summer shop dedicated to garden décor, stone sculptures by Carl Peverall and the weekly Garden Talk Salon lectures. 2017 marks Dargan Landscape Architects’ 45th year of creating home environments that both nourish and inspire.
